* What is the FOOD SHIFT Selection?
The "FOOD SHIFT Selection" is a program, part of the "Nippon Food Shift" promoted by Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, that selects and publicizes excellent products from across the country that meet one of four viewpoints from the principles of the revised Basic Act on Food, Agriculture and Rural Areas: local production for local consumption or expanding consumption of domestic agricultural, forestry, and fishery products; promoting the Green Food System Strategy; expanding the market for household stockpiling; and expanding inbound tourist consumption. Selected products may use the "FOOD SHIFT Selection certification mark."
In addition, a "FOOD SHIFT Selection Point Campaign" will be held for this year's grand prize and prize-winning products. The campaign supports products that contribute to those four viewpoints. During the campaign period, simply buy a FOOD SHIFT Selection grand prize or prize-winning product, photograph the receipt with your smartphone, and upload it to the campaign site to complete your entry and earn points, which you can use to enter a prize drawing. A total of 300 winners will receive a "FOOD SHIFT Selection assorted gift set." (Period: December 23, 2025 to February 1, 2026) It is carried out as an effort to promote sustainable food choices through the fun of consumers "supporting by buying."
